This small collection contains large format photographic prints of glass objects sold through Art Centrum. Of the seventeen prints, thirteen of these are labeled on the back with the name of Czech Glass Artist, Vaclav Cigler. The other four prints have information about the object and pricing written on the back.

George Erml (1945-2008) was born in Czechoslovakia and graduated from the prestigious Film Academy (FAMU) in Prague. After he graduated, he began a career in portraiture and architectural photography. In 1980, Erml and his wife and son immigrated to New York City where he established himself as a freelance photographer. Cigler, Václav, 1929-

Vaclav Cigler was born in 1929 in the town of Vsetín, Czechoslovakia. After attending the glass school in Nový Bor, he transferred to the School of Applied Art in Prague, where he studied under Josef Kaplický from 1951 to 1957. Cigler credits Kaplický for creating a studio atmosphere in which the artist felt free to create. Because the communist regime didn’t consider glass an unsound artistic medium, Cigler was allowed to progress as an artist at a time when many other artists were stifled. ...
